Yesterday I had a birthday party. I got many presents, but my favorite present is you. You are so great. I can talk to you whenever I want, and you are small enough that I can carry you around in my purse. When I write to you, it is one of the high points of my day.
Kitty, I would like you to know that I am one of those people that likes to please people. Today I brought my boyfriend over for dinner to make sure my family approved of him, and of course they did. I am happy they approved of him; he is a nice and thoughtful person. I feel like it is good when I please people.
I sometimes feel so caring. A few hours ago I made sure that everybody was having a good time. I told everyone how nice they looked, including the boys. When I do that, everyone else compliments me.
Kitty, today I felt so confident. When I walked into school today, I felt like I was on top of the world. When I looked at all the boys, they looked right back at me with big grins on their faces.
Kitty, I was feeling so funny today. I really did not want to be with Peter, but he is so boring. I love the jokes my sister says, but everyone that hears them would laugh at them.
Well, I have to go to school now; I will talk to you tonight.
Our project for The Outsiders by S.E Hinton was to choose a character most like us. We worked on how to write a five paragraph essay, and we learned how to put quotes into a sentence. I felt like I wrote a good essay. The first and last paragraphs were the hardest to me. I don’t know why. I learned how to put a quote into a sentence correctly too.
Bravery is when you are not scared, or you don’t care what other people think. Brave people like to stand up for others; they do activities that no one else would do. Just like detectives, police officers and firemen. Ponyboy was brave in the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton.
Ponyboy is brave when he runs away with Johnny. This happens because Johnny kills Bob, and the two boys have to leave so they don’t get caught. They go to a church in Windrixville to hide. This means that Ponyboy has to leave Darry and Soda, his brothers. In order to hide, they have to change the way they look. Johnny says, “They’ll have our descriptions in the paper. We can’t fit ‘em.” (Page 71) When they have to change their looks, the cut their hair and died it blonde. That was impressive because their hair is important to greasers. That is really brave of Ponyboy because he has to work for his own food instead of Soda and Darry doing it.
In addition, Ponyboy is also brave when he fights in the rumble, and then right after that he watches Johnny die. Ponyboy was brave enough to go fight in the rumble even though he knew he would be the smallest. After the rumble when Ponyboy is sitting in the hospital with Dally and Johnny, Johnny says, “Stay Gold” to Ponyboy right before he dies. Ponyboy listens to what Johnny says; he is brave enough to keep on going with his life instead of being depressed.
Finally Ponyboy was the most brave when he went into the fire to save the kids in the church. He is brave enough to run into a fire and risk his life to save someone else’s. When Johnny and Pony were in the fire Johnny yells “where are they!” desperately looking for the kids. Ponyboy steps up his bravery even more when he goes deeper into the fire to look for the other children. That is when he is the bravest.
Those who are brave and help people in need are good people. There are brave people all around like firemen, police men and sports players. If there weren’t brave people in the world more people would die, or houses would burn down. Ponyboy is brave in The Outsiders by S.E Hinton. Ponyboy is brave when he runs away; he is brave when he fights in the rumble. But he is the bravest when he runs in the fire to save the children. I am brave when I stand up for my family and friend. I hate it when people tease my sister. I always stand up for my sister, but I don’t always stick up for everybody. I’m not always brave, when people put others down I doesn’t always stick up for them
At the beginning of the year we did a project called Six Word Memoirs. We wrote three six word memoirs. The sentences we wrote were suppose to talk about ourselves. You are only allowed to have six word for each sentence, so it was kind of hard. The last one was the hardest, I just couldn't figure out how to write it, but I finally did it.
I play baseball, and work hard.
I read some, mostly sports books.
On my snowboard, I fly high.
